MECC skills training and e-learning development

London Borough of Waltham Forest
Training

Delivering specialist MECC training and a bespoke e-learning package to a London borough

In Waltham Forest, we delivered around 50 Making Every Contact Count (MECC) sessions to over 500 staff and volunteers from across the Council (250+), the Voluntary sector (150+), the Metropolitan Police Service (65) and Primary Care services (40+).

We were also commissioned to develop behaviour change training focussed on alcohol and drug-taking behaviours, and an e-learning package for MECC.

With SMG’s support, Waltham Forest now has an active MECC practitioners’ network, with regular meetings, and an aim of cascading MECC practice and embedding MECC skills into the culture of the council and its partners.

Our involvement in Waltham Forest has continued beyond the end of the main contract, monitoring progress with the e-learning and the practitioners’ network, and providing periodic refresher training.
